Expired NCB Insurance for Your Bike

Existing customers please call

Taken a break from riding, only to find your no claims bonus has expired? This can increase your insurance premiums quite significantly. We offer expired NCB insurance for motorcycles, scooters or mopeds, meaning we can still recognise your no claims even if it’s over two years old.

Affordable NCB expiry motorcycle insurance

If you’ve been riding for a few years without making a claim, chances are you’ve built up quite a significant no claims bonus. This helps reduce your insurance premiums at renewal, so it can be devastating when your NCB expires as it essentially takes you back to square one.

At Bikesure, we know that there are many reasons you might have lost your NCB, such as going out of the country, using your friend’s bike or being put on your company’s insurance policy. Having been in the industry for decades, we know that none of these reasons make you a poor rider and therefore accept expired NCB.

Why choose Bikesure for expired NCB insurance?

We’re a group of motorcycle enthusiasts ourselves, so we’re aware of the varying needs of motorcyclists. That’s why we offer policies that can be tailored to you, whether you require EU cover, insurance for multiple bikes, or laid-up cover.

We’re also one of very few insurance brokers that accepts an out of date NCB, so give us a call if this applies to you. We also recognise no claims you’ve built on other types of vehicles.

FAQs

How can I save more on my motorcycle insurance?

There are a number of other ways you can save money on your motorcycle, scooter or moped insurance. This includes:

  • Taking out a limited mileage policy
  • Joining a bike club or group
  • Improving your bike security

For more money-saving tips, read our blog on ‘How to save money on motorbike insurance.’

What does motorcycle NCB mean?

A motorcycle no claims bonus – also known as NCB or a no claims discount – is a reward for safe riding. Essentially, for every year you ride without having to make an insurance claim, you build up your NCB. This will reduce the amount you’ll have to pay on your insurance. In some cases, it can reduce your premiums by up to 70%.

How does my no claims bonus work?

If your policy offers a no claims bonus, you’ll start building it up as soon as you start riding. Once you’ve been riding for a year without making a bike insurance claim, you’ll be rewarded with a no claims discount. This effectively helps reduce your insurance premiums. Your discount increases for every year of claims-free riding.

Can I use car NCB on a motorbike?

Whilst you cannot use car NCB on a motorcycle policy, you may still be able to get a discount for having it. We understand that any time spent on the road will help improve your safety as a motorcyclist.

How long does bike no claims bonus last?

Most no claims discounts will last for two years before they expire.

This helps cover the costs involved with replacing your helmet and protective clothing in the event of a motorcycle accident so you can get back on the road as soon as possible. Insurance to ride any bike

Ever fancied borrowing a friend’s or family member’s bike, but been worried that you might not be insured should you have an accident?

With Bikesure’s “ride any bike” insurance, you could add the equivalent of comprehensive insurance to your policy while you ride other people’s bikes – leaving you and the owner safe in the knowledge that you’re covered, whatever happens.

With up to a £10,000 claims limit, accidental damage, third party, fire, and theft cover included, and no need to let us know every time you borrow a new bike, you’ll be free to hop on and hit the road whenever you like.

Agreed Value Insurance

Whatever bike you ride, from a scooter to a cruiser, dirt bike to superbike, you want to know that you can claim back the full value of your bike if it’s written off.

With agreed value insurance from Bikesure, we’ll work with you to agree the true value of your bike when you take out a policy, and make sure that you get that sum back when you need to claim – helping you to fund a replacement bike without leaving you out of pocket.

Helmet and leathers

It’s no secret that your helmet and leathers are some of the most important items for staying safe on a bike – and that they can cost hundreds of pounds to replace if damaged.

For just £29.99 a year, our helmet and leathers insurance will cover up to £1,500 in the costs involved with repairing or replacing your leathers and helmet (or £40.00 for £3,000 in costs), including full leathers and other protective clothing, boots and gloves.

With a low £50 excess for each claim, insuring your protective kit could save you hundreds following an accident, and claims on your helmet and leathers policy won’t affect your bike no claims bonus.

Keycare Insurance

If you’ve ever lost your keys, you’ll know that it’s no laughing matter, and can in fact end up costing you a lot of money in locksmith fees.

For just £19.00 a year, our keycare insurance policy will cover locksmith expenses, replacement locks and keys, bike immobilizer replacement costs, vehicle hire costs, and transport costs if you’re stranded, up to a value of £1,500.

We’ll pay out if your keys are stolen, locked inside your home, or lost for 48 hours. Better yet, your keys are protected regardless of your location; we now cover keys worldwide.
