Carl Fogarty talks about his life captured on camera

Multiple world superbike champion and endearing I’m a Celebrity winner Carl Fogarty took time out from his busy schedule to talk about his life in pictures.

The three times champion spent much of his career with a camera and a telescopic lens pointing in his direction and here he reveals the back stories behind some of the most iconic photographs.

From facing the camera with The Stig on Top Gear, to posing with his bleached blond hair and wife Michaela in a PR shoot for Ducati, and from racing in front of the biggest ever superbike crowd of 121,000 at Brands Hatch to painful X-rays of the injuries that ended his career, Foggy reveals all.

Today Fogarty is known just as well for winning I’m a Celebrity as he is for his prowess on a motorbike and there is a special mention for that chapter in his life and the joy that he felt when the “ordinary guy from Blackburn, England” overcame other celebrities and household names to be crowned King of the Jungle in TV’s biggest reality shows.

It is now 20 years since Foggy was forced to retire and to mark that fact he has agreed to continue as an ambassador for Bikesure, the bikers’ bike insurance broker.

Bike fans and Fogarty fans will get the chance to meet the great man at events up and down the country once the coronavirus lockdown period is over

Bikesure business manager Robert Balls said: “Carl Fogarty describes himself as an ordinary guy from Blackburn.

“But he has had a truly extraordinary life and everyone here is delighted and excited that he has agreed to be our brand ambassador once again this year.

“Our clients will get the chance to meet Foggy at a number of Bikesure backed events up and down the country once the coronavirus lockdown is lifted. Watch this space and our social media channels for details.”
