Bikesure Wishes Good Luck To Carl Fogarty Joining I’m A Celebrity 2014

This year, crawling out through the bushes and chowing down on a witchetty grub salad, comes four-time world superbike champion Carl Fogarty – who just so happens to be a partner of ours at Bikesure.

We’ve worked with Foggy, as he’s known to his fans, for several years now to provide track day treats to our customers, showcase our insurance offerings and give motorbike fans a glimpse of their hero in action.

Known for his determination to succeed and sometimes-gruff temperament on and off the track, all eyes are on Carl Fogarty as he enters the jungle. Appearing alongside celebrities including newsreader Michael Buerk, actor Craig Charles, presenter Melanie Sykes and ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard, the pressure is on Foggy to get the public on side whilst and avoiding upset with his campmates.

Pitching 10 celebrities into the steamy Australian jungle for three weeks of terror, tension and trials, the reality TV show has become a family favourite over past series and is already thrilling again.

Before a career-ending crash in 2000, Foggy led a successful and fruitful decade at the very peak of motorbike racing, and earned an astounding 108 podiums and 59 wins from 219 starts – a record which granted him a deserving place as one of the all-time greats.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Carl made his professional debut aged just 14 years old, rising quickly to make his international breakthrough aged just 23 and become Formula 1 TT World Champion the same year. A frantic 10 years of fame followed, securing an endurance triumph, several Isle of Man successes, including a double in 1990, and his four World Championships – amongst endless others.

Despite earning untold glory on the track, Foggy admitted on his official website (www.carlfogarty.com) that the jungle poses a very different challenge to what he’s used to:

“It’s not often motorbike racers get asked to do this kind of show but, of all the reality TV shows, this was the one I could always see myself agreeing to” he said. “I was ready for a different kind of challenge. It’s going to be out of my comfort zone being with so many strangers, not to mention the bugs and creepy crawlies.”

Carl Fogarty stepped out into the I’m A Celebrity jungle this Sunday, and all of us here at Bikesure are cheering him on as he prepares to meet the tough challenges he’ll be set.

Look out on our social media for news of a competition coming up, and your chance to win some signed Foggy gear.
