Honda CG125 - Learner package (1,250GBP)
Honda CG-125 - Learner package57 Plate - First registered 29 November 2007Taxed until 31 October 2010First MOT not due until 29 November 20105345 miles, last serviced (Honda main dealer) around 150 miles ago.BackgroundThis is a late-model CG-125 - one of the last made, and as such features a front disc brake and electric start. I have owned this bike for approximately 15 months, and am the second owner. I bought it to practice riding a geared bike prior to taking my DAS (June last year) and since I passed (and bought a larger bike!) it has been used for occasional practice by my wife, with the same aim. We have done less than 400 miles between us though, so it's time to sell up!Good points:As you can see from the pictures, the bike is in excellent overall condition. It rides really nicely, returns 80+ mpg and has been faultlessly reliable. All electrics work perfectly, there is lots of tread left on both matching Pirelli City Demon tyres, and the chain and sprockets have plenty of life left in them. The exhaust (from the cylinder back) was replaced under warranty at the last service (due to a minor rattle) and is therefore in perfect condition. The bike comes with all manuals and documentation, two sets of keys, and a complete (unused) tool kit. Also included in the sale is everything you need (apart from riding gear!) to get up and running:- Fitted front and rear L plates (plus a spare rear plate)- A heavy-duty chain and lock- A wheel lock (to replace the steering lock mentioned below).- An Oxford all-weather cover (virtually brand new)- The CG125 Haynes ManualBad pointsThe bike has been the subject of a very low speed "drop" (by the previous owner) onto its left-hand side. This has resulted in some scrapes - to the back of the clocks, the mirror stem, bar-end and pillion grab rail. The tank was not damaged. I have tried to show these marks in the pictures - they are minor. Also, as is common with these bikes, the steering lock has been removed as it had been bent. I asked Honda whether it was worth getting it replaced, but was told it was a notorious weak point, and that a wheel lock would be more reliable - the one I use is therefore included in the sale.PriceI have priced the bike at £1250 ONO which I feel is very fair given its overall excellent condition and very low mileage, and reflects the few minor marks mentioned above. The bike is located in South-East London (very accessible by train). I'm happy to discuss the terms of any test rides with anyone wishing to view the bike.Pease don't hesitate to call or email with any questions.
