Alfred Angas Scott was an inventor par excellence with over 50 patents to his name. Notably, he invented the kick start. Scott motorcycles commenced production in 1908 and his machines did well at the Isle of Man TT races. Production of Scott machines continued beyond the company's liquidation in 1950, with a Birmingham company, AeroJig continuing to produce Scotts until the early sixties.
