Phelon and Moore were a Yorkshire company who sold bikes under the Panther brand name. Producing their first bike in 1900, the Panther brand was introduced in 1924 and continued in use until 1967, when production ceased after 5 years in the hands of the receivers. Their bikes for the most part featured a single cylinder engine as part of a stressed front frame member, with low rpm and high torque, which made them ideal for pairing with a sidecar.
