Moto Morini was founded in Bologna in 1937 by Alfonso Morini, and initially produced a range of lightweight two and three wheelers. In the seventies the company introduced a more powerful range of 350cc and 500cc V-twin machines, but the decline in the European motorcycle market led to Morini being sold to Cagiva in 1987 and by 1996 production of Moto Morini machines had completely finished. The rights to the name were bought back by Alfonso's nephew Franco's company which has produced the current models, Corsaro 1200 and Corsaro Veloce 1200cc naked and sports bikes.
