The history of Royal Enfield dates back to its origins as a small arms maker, and produced motorcycles in the UK until 1970, including military bikes for both wars, as well as famous bikes like the Royal Enfield Bullet and the Interceptor. The Indian subsidiary company set up in 1949 has survived to keep the marque alive and still produces and exports the Royal Enfield Bullet to this day - the longest production run of a single motorcycle model ever - essentially little changed since 1949.
